What is Care Home Open Day?

Care Home Open Day is an annual event where care homes throughout England open their doors to members of the public, for an insight into care home life and so they can participate in some of our wonderful activities. 

The day aims to put care homes in the heart of their communities, by building mutually beneficial links between care homes, their residents, their staff team and their local residents.  

Anchor has over 100 care homes in England, which we welcome you to visit on Care Home Open Day. Our homes are currently planning activities for our residents and any visitors, who are interested in life in a care home or who would like to participate in fun and engaging activities on the day.  

This year, it will be held on Friday 28th June 2019 however, a number of Anchor’s care homes will be holding events over the following weekend so as many people as possible can join us. 

What is the theme?

This year’s theme for Care Home Open Day is ‘Celebrating Arts in Care’. 

Anchor prides itself on offering a wide range of arts-based activities for our residents all year round.  Care Home Open Day will be no different, where there’s likely to be music, painting, crafts – enjoyable and fulfilling activities for residents and visitors to try and enjoy. Wellbeing and activities are an integral part of our care and activities and events will be based on our resident’s preferences and interests.

We welcome local schools and other local individuals and organisations to join us for Care Home Open Day. The more visitors, the merrier!
