Accessibility statement for Anchor
This accessibility statement applies to the public pages on www.anchor.org.uk.
This website is run by Anchor. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- Change colours, contrast levels and fonts.
- Adapt the font size or zoom settings to read the content.
- Navigate most of the website using a keyboard.
- Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software.
- Listen to most of the website using a screen reader.
- View the content on a range of devices.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this website is
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
- Some page elements including links, buttons and text inputs have poor colour contrast. You can apply custom stylesheets and ease of access adaptations to override these styles.
- Some content is hidden to assistive technologies but receives keyboard focus. The hidden carousel slides contain links that will not be announced to screen readers even when they receive focus. Toggling/swiping onto the active/visible state will allow the content to be announced.
- The navigation menus become cut off with increased font sizing or zoom adaptations. You can use the search or follow the page content links to navigate and explore the website.
- Videos do not have captions and text alternatives, but key content is available in surrounding content.
- Many PDF documents including property brochures are not tagged and may not be read correctly by screen readers. Key information about our properties can be found in the HTML page content.

What we're doing to improve accessibility
A budget request has been made specifically for accessibility improvements in the 25/26 financial year. In addition, we are in the process of migrating the website’s database, which will enable more significant changes to the design and layout of pages with a view to improving accessibility. There is a planned site-wide migration scheduled to begin in late 2025 which will enable greater compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standards. In addition, we are assessing third-party accessibility plug-ins which will further support users of assistive technology and neurodiverse users.
