Help us shape what we do and how we do it
Resident involvement
We’ve improved how residents’ views are considered before decisions are made. Resident feedback is shared with senior colleagues, committees and the Board through planned updates and regular reports. Residents also attend key meetings so their views can be heard directly (for example, the Chair of the Residents’ Scrutiny Panel recently joined an Audit and Risk committee meeting to discuss upcoming reviews and the work of the committee).
We’ve been working with the Residents’ Scrutiny Panel to improve how scrutiny works. This includes a director-level sponsor for each review, giving residents easier access to colleagues and information as required. The group’s agendas are based on their needs with clearer documents and information for them to review. All recommendations are now tracked in one place and this is monitored by the director of risk.
Involvement is becoming more inclusive as we make it easier for more residents to share their feedback. Residents can join informal sessions on specific topics without having to commit to being part of a formal group and the regular meetings that involves. Our new finance sessions are one example of this with more than 150 residents interested in our first session on service charges. Discussion topics for future sessions are being chosen by residents.
We’ve improved how we welcome and support residents who join our groups, using their feedback. We’ve introduced additional training, a handbook and a buddy system so they get support from a more experienced group member. This means new members feel more confident and better supported in their role, no matter what their ability level.

Members meet regularly, with formal meeting every 12 weeks and interim meetings as needed to learn more about key topics. They coordinate with local Anchor Residents’ Associations as well as individual residents to make sure as many people’s voices and views are heard, and produce an annual report to the Board of the organisation.
