We are very proud of the caring team of professionals working across our residential care homes.

We understand that an important part of choosing a care home is about trusting the people who work there. That’s why our teams are selected not just for their qualifications, but for their personal qualities and life experiences. We look for people who are instinctively warm, naturally helpful and dedicated to delivering person-centred care. Our colleagues know it’s the small things, like taking time to have a friendly chat, reminisce or share a joke, that can make a big difference to someone's day, and take great pride in their meaningful role in the lives of the people living with us.

Caring professional staff

We believe that the best care comes from well-supported staff.

All our specially chosen team members are given a thorough induction programme designed in line with Skills for Care and CQC standards, and receive ongoing training and support to build their knowledge, skills and confidence and ensure that residents receive the best possible care. 

Our residential care model is based around three core principles for residents: opportunity, choice and wellbeing. We achieve this through our carers who work more like companions to residents. Carers are encouraged to take the initiative and get to understand the holistic needs and desires of residents through conversation and active listening. The ability to facilitate and create independence within personal limitations is vital to ensuring residents are empowered to take control of their life decisions. 

We also pride ourselves on having higher than average staff to resident ratios, for residents this means they have the same team of carers supporting them every day, rather than lots of different members of staff. 

But an Anchor care home is a community made up of more than just the people delivering personal care. In each of our care homes all members of the team, from the housekeeping staff, to the catering team and the administrators, are familiar faces, focused on ensuring all residents feel comfortable and confident that they can rely on a friendly face and helping hand 24-hours a day.
