The Mill House care home turns pink and raises £400 for breast cancer awareness
Residents and colleagues at The Mill House care home in Skipton dressed in pink and raised £400 in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The home held a special Breast Cancer Awareness Day on 7 October, bringing residents, colleagues and visitors together for a day of fundraising, games and activities.
A raffle proved particularly popular, while pink cupcakes were enjoyed by those attending. The money was raised through prize donations, raffle ticket sales and support for the day’s activities.
Resident Joan said:
It was amazing to see all the colleagues and residents come together. We had lots of fun while raising £400 for a very worthwhile cause that is close to my heart.
Home Manager Sharleen Polley said:
We are incredibly proud of everyone who got involved. The day was filled with fun, laughter and community spirit, while raising money for a cause that affects so many families.
We would like to thank everyone who helped organise the day, donated raffle prizes, bought tickets, dressed in pink and joined us.
