West Hall brings local community together to talk about dementia
West Hall care home in West Byfleet care home has helped local people learn more about dementia and the support available at a community event in Woking.
West Hall care home hosted its Let’s Talk Dementia event at Woking Library earlier this month, bringing together people seeking information and guidance, including carers and family members.
The informal session was led by Anchor’s South Dementia Specialist Omonike Aremu, who shared information about dementia and discussed pathways to support. Visitors could also ask questions and connect with local organisations offering advice and practical assistance.
The event was supported by organisations including Action for Carers Surrey, Silver Friends, Right at Home and Woking Borough Council. It was the second Let’s Talk Dementia event hosted by West Hall care home at Woking Library during 2026.
Paul Rifai, General Manager at West Hall care home, said:
Dementia can affect people and families in many different ways, and we want people to know that support and guidance are available. It was wonderful to bring people together in a welcoming setting where they could ask questions, access practical advice and connect with others in the community.
