Gills Top hosts Alice in Wonderland tea party

Gills Top care home in Grassington held a fantastical and fun filled Alice in Wonderland themed tea party for residents and guests. 

Residents, colleagues, and special guests all enjoyed the afternoon of festivities and lovely tea at Gills Top care home and were joined by special guests from nearby care home Townend Close. 

The home was decorated to replicate the theme of Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice in Wonderland with many of the decorations made by the residents themselves! In addition, many attendees also dressed themselves up in outfits reminiscing the book and the wonderful Disney classic film too!

Guests enjoyed a fun variety of activities such as an Alice in Wonderland quiz, games, rose painting and The Queens of Hearts croquet. Gills Top also provided guests with musical entertainment and a delicious Alice in Wonderland themed afternoon tea full of sweet treats and savoury delights such as macarons, homemade scones with strawberry preserve and clotted cream. Guests even had a chance to sample the classic ‘Drink Me’ juice from the books!

Sonia Glossop a resident of Gills Top, said:

That was such good fun! I’ve always loved Alice in Wonderland, so I have to say an afternoon tea and quiz all done in an Alice in Wonderland theme was right up my street! 

I’m glad the weather was so lovely as well! Even though it’s summer you can never be too careful with the rain!
