Layston Grove care home praised by care regulator

A Buntingford care home is delighted to have been classed as ‘good’ in all areas rated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the second highest rating possible.

The team at Layston Grove care home on Keen Avenue were celebrating after receiving the accolade.

The CQC’s robust inspection process gives care homes a rating of outstanding, good, requires improvement or inadequate based on five categories. Anchor’s Layston Grove was rated good in all areas.

The CQC inspectors were impressed by the friendly and inclusive atmosphere of Layston Grove. Inspectors highlighted feedback from relatives that Anchor colleagues were kind and caring.

Inspectors also praised how Layston Grove residents were happy with their care. One relative advised the inspectors that Anchor colleagues “do a fantastic job keeping relatives informed via email and face to face meetings.”

Laura White, District Manager for Layston Grove care home, was thrilled that the CQC had recognised the high standards and hard work of the team.

She said:

I’m really happy that the CQC has given Layston Grove a good rating. The team work incredibly hard to make sure the care home is a great place for older people to live. Getting this kind of praise from the CQC is just the sort of recognition the team at Layston Grove deserves.

Resident Eileen Atherton, 80, who has lived at Layston Grove for two and a half years, said:

It is no surprise that the home has been rated good. I enjoy living here, I feel happy and safe at Layston Grove. The team are really caring, and they really do look after you here.
