Dad went to Layston Grove for 2 weeks of respite care in the summer. He was treated so well that he decided he wanted to stay, having looked after himself for 98 years. This is a wonderful care home for the residents. The whole family are so happy for Dad and very grateful to all the staff a Layston Grove.

Utterly outstanding care for Mum! Mum stayed at Layston Grove for 2 weeks to enable her to attend our family wedding. It was a busy time for us and so the manager and the team received a whole list of instructions from all of Mum's collection times, her care requirements (particularly on the wedding day), haircut and hat for the wedding, etc. Eve… ry detail was executed wonderfully meaning we were totally calm and able to enjoy this very special time with Mum. The carer that looked after Mum at the wedding was fantastic - Mum's every need was catered for and it made our day all the more relaxing. The entire stay was excellent - the home was very vigilant and caring, Mum settled instantly - slept like a top, ate well, and was always exceptionally well looked after. For my Father it was wonderful to see Mum so well cared for, all of his anxieties about this "temporary" move dissipated and it meant he too relaxed and enjoyed her entire stay. We will definitely repeat this "holiday" for Mum.

I came to see my sister-in-law and I joined in with the exercise dog and had a lovely time. The residents had a great time and most joined in. What a fantastic time we all had! Layston Grove is such a lovely place for my sister-in-law to be in. Thank you.

My mum went to Layston only for a week for respite. She was well cared for and, the most important thing, safe. The home is clean and well-maintained. Staff were excellent and very friendly. On the whole, very pleased with her stay, and would recommend it.

My mother was a resident at the home for five and a half months. She was quite unwell when she arrived, but she was very well cared for and consulted by the staff on every decision. For the last four or so weeks she was very ill but they continued to look after her both mentally and physically.

My mother has been at this home for 4 years now. During Covid this home worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of the staff and residents. I cannot praise or Thank them enough for their hard work during such difficult times. My mum is very well cared for and has a comfy room. Staff interact with her constantly even when they are very busy. If I had… to criticise at all it would be that at times there is not enough staff on duty especially at weekends. I would like to see this improve and to not see any agency staff again. The other area I would like to see improved is activities. I would like to see the residents have more outings away from the home. Overall this is an amazing place with fabulous staff who do care about the residents. If you are thinking of one of your loved ones moving into Layston Grove, it would be a good decision as I can assure you they will be moving home from home and will receive the best possible care.

We know how important it is to care for our residents with the dignity and respect they deserve and this is at the heart of what we do at Layston Grove care home

What is included in care home fees?

Care home fees in England can vary substantially from provider to provider and from location to location. Understanding care home funding and accessing the right type of funding assistance can seem like a daunting task.

It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for their care in full, whilst others will make means-tested contributions.

The government sets national limits to determine eligibility for funding assistance. These limits can be subject to change, so it is always advisable to check the figures when choosing a care home.

Paying for your own care
Those who are able to pay for their own care can contact care homes directly. Once a preferred care home has been identified, the care provider will conduct a needs-based assessment.

How much is a weekly private fee?
At Layston Grove, our weekly private fees could include hairdressing, chiropody, daytrips, and daily newspapers. We can provide you more information on fees and how they are charged when you enquire.
