Step-dad and step-son celebrate Father's Day working side by side at Westhill Park care home

This Father's Day, Westhill Park care home in Kettering is celebrating two colleagues with a special connection - one that began long before they started working together.

Stephen, Housekeeping Manager at Westhill Park care home, has played an important role in Connor's life since Connor was 14 years old. Now 26, Connor works alongside Stephen at the home as Handyperson, and the step-dad and step-son remain as close as ever.

When Connor moved to the area, it was Stephen who encouraged him to apply for a role at the home. Following a successful interview, Connor joined the team as Handyperson and has now been at Westhill Park for nearly four years.

Day to day, the pair work across different parts of the home, each dedicated to their own role, but always willing to lend a hand where it is needed.

Connor, Handyperson at Westhill Park, said:

Not many people get to work alongside someone who has had such a big impact on their life. It was Stephen who first encouraged me to apply here, and this place has become a huge part of my life. Working with him every day is something I feel really lucky to be able to do.

Stephen, Housekeeping Manager at Westhill Park, said:

I could not be prouder of Connor. Watching him settle in here and become such a valued part of the team has been one of the best things about working at Westhill Park. Coming to work every day and knowing he is here too - it makes this place feel even more special. We look out for each other, just like we always have.
