Mum came to Timken Grange in June this year. I’ve been very happy with everything. The staff are excellent - friendly, kind and caring. The atmosphere is very welcoming and positive within the home. Cleanliness is exceptional and I genuinely feel mum is in the best possible hands.

This care home has improved considerably first under the previous owner then Anchor. The current Manager who has been here almost as long as the care home has forged a really good team of carers, housekeeping and activities.

Staff are accommodating when we take my grandmother out for trips, often being her back late. Staff are polite. My grandmother generally seems well, and I'm satisfied she is well looked after. The arrival BBQ today was lovely and well-organised.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Timken Grange for 5 years and seems happy there. I think the running of the home has improved over the last year or so. The staff are friendly and helpful and regular social events are arranged including some for families and visitors. We visit at different times a day and always find a welcoming atmosphere.

What is included in care home fees?

Care home fees in England can vary substantially from provider to provider and from location to location. Understanding care home funding and accessing the right type of funding assistance can seem like a daunting task.

It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for their care in full, whilst others will make means-tested contributions.

The government sets national limits to determine eligibility for funding assistance. These limits can be subject to change, so it is always advisable to check the figures when choosing a care home.

Paying for your own care
Those who are able to pay for their own care can contact care homes directly. Once a preferred care home has been identified, the care provider will conduct a needs-based assessment.

How much is a weekly private fee?
At Timken Grange, our weekly private fees could include hairdressing, chiropody, daytrips, and daily newspapers. We can provide you more information on fees and how they are charged when you enquire.
