South Suffolk MP visits St Marys care home after positive CQC rating
South Suffolk MP and Minister of State for Defence Procurement, James Cartlidge, was so impressed by the Care Quality Commission rating received by St Marys care home that he went to see for himself what the home offers.
James Cartlidge MP was joined by Anchor Chief Executive Sarah Jones, district manager Natelie Bessy and wellness co-ordinator Jane Moulder and enjoyed a tour of the home, hosted by Care Home Manager Anna Dabrowska.
During the visit, he watched residents taking part in a Zest exercise session, chatted with residents and care colleagues about the range of care services available at the home and discussed the recruitment challenges that Anchor faces.
Anna said after the visit:
We were thrilled to have Mr Cartlidge MP visit us at St Marys. I don’t think he realised that Anchor provides housing as well as care, so we provided him with a lot of food for thought.
Our residents enjoyed meeting him and we spoke about the person-centred care services we provide at the home.
Anchor’s Chief Executive Sarah Jones said:
We were delighted to host James at St Marys care home. I know the residents and team really enjoyed speaking with him and it was a great opportunity for James to see first-hand how our care colleagues are committed to delivering the highest standards of care and serving the local community.
James Cartlidge MP said:
The team at St Mary’s are thoroughly deserving of their ‘good’ CQC accreditation, and it was a pleasure to visit the home last week to meet both their staff and residents. When talking to staff and walking around the home, it was clear to see their dedication to the residents for which they care.
