How we commemorated Remembrance Day 2022
Across our locations, residents and colleagues came together to take a moment and reflect upon and remember the losses experienced through war.
The day is especially poignant to residents as some may have memories of war or experienced the loss of war. Locations held special events that allowed residents to commemorate the day in a way that was meaningful for them, whether it be simply observing the Two Minute Silence, making poppies, or sharing war time stories.
Residents at Silk Court care home observed the silence and then shared war stories, and residents at Wetherby Manor painted poppies together. The Firs hosted a special flower arranging day, and other locations marked Remembrance Day with appropriate decorations.
At Anchor, we make sure residents can commemorate events that are important to them and provide many accessible ways to make this possible.
