My mum had a 16 night stay at Manor House in January 2025 to recuperate after hospital. My mum, and we as a family, were most impressed with Manor House. The room with en-suite bathroom was on the ground floor near the cafe so a very central location for social interaction. The furnishings were very plush with an array of orchids displayed. It was … literally like a 5 star hotel. The food was great too ... always plenty of choice. She could eat in her room, in the cafe or in any of the restaurants on each floor. The thing that stood out most though were the staff ... from management, to admin, to maintenance, to the carers. They were all exceptional. Nobody had that "there there dear" attitude that can often be used with older people. Nothing was too much trouble. So considering all of the above, my mum had a lovely stay at this care home ... and as a family, we had that all-important peace of mind that she was being well looked after by genuinely nice people who actually do care.

Sadly my mum only lived at the Manor House for 1 month so didn't manage to appreciate the lifestyle at this lovely care home. This home deserves the 10* rating it has achieved and I would recommend it to anyone.

My mum moved into The Manor House Harrogate in September 2024, she was immediately made to feel very welcome and very quickly felt at home. Sadly she passed away this month, but the care given was absolutely out of this world I cant speak highly enough of the staff at The Manor House, the level of care and love given was exceptional. I would rec… ommend the The Manor House to everybody and as a family we are so grateful that my mum's last days in this world were peaceful, safe and cared for Congratulations Team Manor House you are simply the best.

After needing to find a care home for my mother that met her current needs, we embarked on an exhaustive search for a suitable residential facility. We were delighted to find the Manor House in Harrogate and even happier when they found a room for our mother. The building and facilities are impressive. Modern, well-furnished and clean, with comfort… able communal areas and spacious bedrooms. However, the standout feature is the attentive and good-natured staff, which is by far the most essential factor when looking for a care home. My mother has settled in quickly, and hearing from her that she feels very well looked after makes us all reassured that we have made the right choice. As a family, we are pleased and grateful that our mother is being cared for by the excellent staff at the Manor House, which feels more like a well-run hotel.

My Dad was a resident of The Manor House for just over a year. He was very content and happy there and I was extremely impressed with the care he received from all members of staff. It speaks for itself when we were able to move Dad out of hospital back to Manor House for his last few days. He received wonderful end-of-life care, we couldn't have a… sked for anything more. I will always remember with fondness the fun, kindness and caring shown to my Dad by everyone. Thank you to you all on Chester floor for being such an important part of Dad's last phase of life.

From the first phone call and enquiry you are made to feel so welcome and all staff are willing to listen and not judge. The level of service is outstanding within 12 hours of initial contact the staff from the home had visited my father in hospital and had assessed his needs and ensured a smooth transition from the hospital to the care home via N… HS transport. My father has settled in to the way of life of being cared for and looked after by staff that nothing is too much trouble, he has picked up within his self 100% and has gained some weight as my dad has told me the food is absolutely lovely. He is now walking round the home keeping fit as he points out to the staff. I can't thank the staff enough for looking after my dad it has taking a huge stress and worry of the family that he is being looked after and cared for respectfully by staff who can do, will do at any time. Thank you.

My dad moved into The Manor House from an assisted living apartment with domiciliary care. His increased care needs and loss of mobility exceeded what assisted living could provide. I have visited over a hundred care and nursing homes professionally so was very picky about where dad lived. We visited 7 homes before choosing Manor House as somewher… e we thought he would be well cared for, where he would feel at ease, where there were suitable opportunities for him to socialise and hopefully get the most out of whatever time he had left. While dad's health and strength never returned sufficiently for him to take advantage of the facilities, he enjoyed the food as one of his last remaining pleasures. While Manor House is undoubtedly 'high end' in terms of design and furnishings, the true test of any care home is how well it meets the needs of its residents, in my dad's case, we could not have hoped for a more caring and competent team to care for him. My family is very grateful for that.

Paul Richardson-Mackie

Chef Manager

I have worked in various kitchens over a 22 year span and have learned many things along the way regarding how different kitchens work. I love cooking and seeing people enjoying the food I have prepared for them, whether it be in a restaurant, a hotel, doing banquets and weddings, or for residents in a care home - where I currently work with Anchor. My main focus is to ensure that all the food I prepare is done so with care, love and attention, ensuring my guests receive the best possible experience. I really enjoy face to face interactions with my guests and residents, as I feel it is important to get feedback on what I do and to build a rapport with the clientele. I believe you have to be adaptable in your approach when it comes to food as everyone has different pallets. Welcoming you

To start your enquiry simply click 'Enquire now' at the top of the page and either call us or complete an online enquiry form.

We’ll provide you with full details of the home, along with any other information you’d like, such as sample menus and activity schedules.

Whether you’re looking to stay with us permanently, or for a short break, we’d be delighted to take you on a show round of the home in person. Simply book a visit with the home manager once you’ve made your enquiry.

If you or your loved one doesn’t live nearby or are unable to visit in person we can provide a virtual show round. Either way, we’re keen to show you what daily life is like here and for you to meet our friendly team.

We hope you decide, following your visit, that you or your loved one would like to move into the home, in which case we’ll organise a pre-assessment to make sure we can meet all your care needs.

Our friendly onsite team will discuss every area of moving-in with you in detail to make sure you and your loved-one know exactly what to expect and feel confident, safe and welcomed when coming to live with us.

Before you move in, we will find out if there are any of your possessions that you wish us to place in your room before you arrive. Please bring your family photographs and most treasured possessions to help make your room your home.

We understand how important visits are for everyone and we welcome regular visits from family and friends. We also actively support our residents to enjoy visits away from the care home.

Each of our homes is different and the manager of the care home you’re interested in will provide all the information you need around visiting.

A review from the son of a resident at The Manor House

"The Manor is an excellent, friendly and very well-appointed care home - more akin to a hotel than a residential home. The care and attention provided to my father over the past year, (since August 2019) has been exemplary and has been an important exercise of reassurance to me and my mother during a very difficult period. Thanks to everyone at The Manor for their care and support; it is much appreciated."

Customer reviews

I would like you to pass on my thanks to all the staff who were engaged in dads care, we were so impressed by everyone's professionalism and kindness. Dad was always treated with the utmost respect. His care was consistently excellent throughout his stay with you and the staff were always very polite and helpful to us. One of the things I found most remarkable was that this was without exception, usually one might expect one or two staff not to come quite up to the measure, but that wasn't the case here, without exception all the staff impressed us with their positive, caring and respectful attitude. I could not have asked for my father to have been looked after better in his final months, thank you all so much.
