Devonshire House care home team win top regional award at Great British Care Awards

Two team members of Devonshire House care home in Cavendish have triumphed at the East of England regional finals of the Great British Care Awards 2023, which recognises excellence across the care sector. 

Kevin McCree and Harry Smith won the Care Newcomer Award and Ancillary Award respectively in the East of England at a regional final ceremony hosted at the Milton Keynes Dons stadium on 3 November.

The Great British Care Awards honour individuals who have gone the extra mile to help improve the lives of residents within their care.

Judges concluded that Kevin and Harry demonstrated clear vision, passion and dedication to the people in their care, as well as their families and worked well with their colleagues at Devonshire House. 

Having won their regional award, Kevin and Harry will now go on to represent the whole of East of England in Care Newcomer and Ancillary categories in the national finals taking place in early 2024.

Harry was delighted to win the regional final, saying:

It’s amazing! I was so happy just to be nominated but I honestly can’t believe I’ve won! I love doing what I do and it’s wonderful to be recognised by the judges for the Ancillary category. Huge congratulations to Kevin too!
