Canterbury House care home summer fair brings community together
Canterbury House care home in Ipswich has helped bring the local community together by hosting a summer fair. Residents were joined by both family and members of the community for the event.
The day involved a series of activities, from games of hoopla to a raffle. There was live music, a BBQ, and local bakery Kerry’s Cakes provided delicious brownies and cupcakes.
Carolina Carvalho, Home Manager at Canterbury House care home, said:
From start to finish, there was much laughter and many smiles. It was our pleasure to welcome so many families throughout the day.
I am very proud of the team who worked so hard to make the day a success. Fetes are such a great opportunity for the whole care home to get together in the sunshine as well as visitors from the local community.
Resident at Canterbury House Betty Gay said:
We had a lovely day. It felt special to be out in the sunshine. Some people even bought their dogs which made the day even better.
Fellow resident Brenda Crisell added:
What was nice was that there were lots of people that came together to enjoy it including some we didn’t know. There were so many new people to talk to.
