Anchor care homes celebrate Burns Night
Our care teams work hard to make sure special days are marked and host fun activities for residents to take part in.
On Thursday 25 January Anchor care homes across the country celebrated Burns Night which marks the life of the Scottish poet Robert Burns.
Residents enjoyed meals of haggis, neeps and tatties washed down with a refreshing glass of Irn Bru, communal areas were decorated with tartan accessories and traditional Scottish music was played.
Colleagues at Gills Top wore their kilts for the day while residents at Firth House welcomed a performer who played the bagpipes for them. The Ridings decorated their communal areas with Saltires and tartan buntings and residents at The Manor House in Knaresborough made Scottish themed crafts.
Throughout the year celebrations are planned for national days that bring residents and colleagues together. Unique activities are planned so anyone who wants to get involved can do so. To find out more about what life is like in a care home, click here.
