Primrose Court care home celebrates 40-year anniversary in style
Residents, families, colleagues and members of the local community came together to celebrate a very special milestone as Primrose Court care home in Leeds marked its 40th anniversary with a day of entertainment, celebration, and shared memories. 
The Otley Town Crier officially announced the celebrations, kicking off a memorable day filled with music, laughter, and plenty of good food. Residents enjoyed live entertainment from the Bluebirds, as well as a 1980s buffet lunch, that quickly became the highlight of many people's afternoon. Amid the festivities, Home Manager Joanne Lawrence took a moment to make a speech, reflecting on the home's rich history and thanking the many people, past and present, who have helped shape its story over
four decades.
With entertainment, food and festivities running throughout the day, residents and guests had plenty of time to catch up, share stories, and enjoy the occasion together, making it a celebration to remember.
The anniversary marked an important moment in Primrose Court’s history, celebrating four decades of providing care and support to older people within the local community. The celebrations were captured in photographs, preserving the smiles, moments, and memories created throughout the day. The milestone was a chance to recognise the people who have been part of Primrose Court’s journey over the past 40 years and to celebrate the special community that continues to make the home the welcoming place it is today.
Joanne Lawrence, Home Manager at Primrose Court, said:
Celebrating 40 years of Primrose Court has been so special. Over the years, so many residents, families and colleagues have been part of Primrose Court’s story, and the anniversary was a chance to recognise all those connections. Seeing residents enjoying the entertainment, chatting with loved ones and friends, and sharing their memories throughout the day was a real highlight.
David Darwin, Resident at Primrose Court, said:
It’s been lovely catching up with family and friends, looking back on so many happy memories and enjoying all the entertainment. The Bluebirds were fantastic and had everyone singing along, but I especially loved the ice cream.
