Bilton Court beats the blues
Bilton Court care home in Wellingborough decided to face the most trying day of the year through acts of kindness.
Blue Monday, which takes place on the third Monday of January, is known for being the saddest day of the year. To combat this difficult day, Bilton Court care home took the opportunity to thank their local community for their exceptional hard work and dedication.
Carley Calder, Home Manager of Bilton Court, came up with ideas to give back to the local community which the care home works closely with throughout the year.
She said:
We have great relationships with groups in our local community such as the local health services, the fire brigade and groups for older people in the area. They do fantastic work and I thought Blue Monday was a great opportunity to show our appreciation for all they do.
Some of the ways the care team showed their thanks include bacon roll deliveries to the fire brigade and ambulance services, thank you gifts, and donations to a local charity for the homeless. The home also set up a box for colleagues where they can both donate and help themselves to items they need.
