Residents and colleagues at Canterbury House enjoy festivities this December
Canterbury House in Faversham kicked off their festive celebrations with their spectacular Christmas lights switch-on. The annual tradition is a much-loved moment in the lead-up to Christmas, bringing joy to residents and the local community.
Residents have also been busy creating their own decorations to hang on the care home’s Christmas tree.
Festive cheer has filled Canterbury House this December, with a lively programme of daily activities bringing joy to residents. From crafting Christmas hats to designing personalised stockings, creativity has been in full swing. Even with the cold weather, everyone has stayed warm and active - enjoying walks around the estate and getting competitive with a spirited game of snowball toss. Residents have also been delighted by carol singing from local schoolchildren and have thoroughly enjoyed the delicious seasonal treats, including yule log baking and the annual Christmas cake sale.
Lacey Waddington, Home Manager at Canterbury House, says:
The festive season is always a special time for our community, and it’s been wonderful to see our residents so engaged and joyful. Our team works hard to create activities that bring people together, spark creativity, and make meaningful memories. Seeing everyone join in, from crafts to carols, has truly brought the spirit of Christmas to life here at Canterbury House.
Pamela, resident at Canterbury House, says:
I’ve loved all the festive activities this year, but the Christmas karaoke was definitely my favourite! Canterbury House truly feels like my home. Being here, surrounded by amazing people and daily activities, brings such a spark to my life. There’s always something happening, and I love every moment.
