Marham House resident goes viral with musical masterpiece
A video of Pammy Jones playing the piano at Marham House care home in Bury St Edmunds recently went viral on Facebook
Pammy, who was the lead singer in a band when she was younger, continues to embrace the power of music to unite people and spread joy – with a video of her playing reaching over one million people to date.
Her ‘greatest hits’ on the piano include Daisy Daisy, Singing in The Rain and Embraceable You. Pammy regularly plays the care home’s piano, much to the enjoyment of residents and care colleagues.
But Pammy was astonished by just how big her audience has become and couldn’t believe that she’d reached the coveted milestone of one million views.
Pammy says:
I have always loved music and performing, and it means the world to me that I still get to play. I can’t believe how many people have seen me on the piano – if it continues to be this popular, I’ll be taking song requests!
Teresa Burgess, Manager at Marham House care home in Bury St Edmunds, says:
Every day at Anchor we see first-hand how music can positively impact the social, mental and even physical wellbeing of our residents. Pammy’s playing brings our residents and colleagues so much joy and allows us to come together in a shared love of music. We’re so excited to see Pammy’s performance receiving such a positive response from others, too.
