Linwood care home colleague wins top regional award at Great British Care Awards

We’re proud to announce that Grace Iguhehide, representing Linwood care home in Thames Ditton triumphed at the London regional final of the Great British Care Awards 2025 which recognises excellence across the care sector.

Grace overcame the competition to claim The Putting People First Award at the regional final held at the London Hilton Bankside on Saturday November 15.

The Great British Care Awards honour individuals who have gone the extra mile to help improve the lives of residents within their care.

Judges concluded that Grace puts people first, treating them with the same care and respect she would wish for her own grandmother. She encourages independence and supports residents in completing activities, going above and beyond—once even bringing her own sewing machine to the home for a resident who loves sewing.

Following her win, Grace will advance on to the national final at the ICC in Birmingham, which will take place next Spring.

Grace was delighted to win at the regional final, saying:

It’s amazing! I was so happy just to be nominated but I honestly can’t believe I’ve won! I love doing what I do and it’s wonderful to be recognised by the judges in The Putting People First Award category.

I'm just so grateful to everyone who nominated and supported me in getting to this stage. I hope I do everyone proud at the upcoming national finals!
