Glenvale Park care home welcomes local community for summer open day
Glenvale Park care home in Wellingborough has both raised money for charity and brought the community together through its open day.
Anchor’s Glenvale Park raised £400 for the Royal British Legion on Saturday 29 June. The fundraising efforts were supported by care team colleagues, residents at Glenvale Park, and members of the community who joined in the fun.
The day involved a series of activities, from a tombola to a lucky dip. There were also performances from singers including ‘The Starlight Sisters’.
Carley Calder, Home Manager at Glenvale Park, said:
We had a fantastic afternoon with a great turnout from family members and our local community. The staff did an incredible job putting it together and went above and beyond to make sure it was a success.
We raised an impressive £400 for The Royal British Legion, so thank you to everyone that contributed. Here at Glenvale Park we love to give back to the community that we live in, so to see so many of our neighbours join us was wonderful.
Glenvale Park resident Sheila Ambrose, said:
I really enjoyed the afternoon; the singers were great, and it was nice to be in the sunshine.
Fellow resident Cecily Porritt, 86, added:
It was wonderful to be able to spend time with all my family and enjoy the afternoon.
