Couple celebrate their 60-year wedding anniversary

Helen and Brian Ingram recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with relatives and friends at Silk Court care home in London. 

Helen once again walked down the aisle, just as she did on her wedding day. She was accompanied by two colleagues from Silk Court. The happy couple cut their cake, before enjoying a three-course meal with their daughter Linda. There were plenty of presents on the day, alongside a card from the King!

Helen and Brian first met when they were neighbours. Brian was gently coerced by his own mum and neighbours to “ask the nice young girl downstairs out". 

At first rebuffed by Helen, Brian bided his time before asking her out again. It was second time lucky, and since then the couple haven’t looked back. 

Helen and Brian revealed the secret of being happily married for 60 years is to not give up at the first hurdle. Instead talk to each other, and work through the problem.

A massive happy 60th anniversary to the lovely couple. We are so happy for them to have reached this big milestone and hope for many more! 

Helen and Brian are an inspiration to us all and we hope they had the most special day. We love to do what we do, the smile on their faces was all worth it.
