Anchor care homes donate toys to children’s hospitals at Christmas
Anchor care homes have been spreading festive cheer this Christmas by donating toys to local children’s hospitals.
Care colleagues from Glenvale Park care home in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire visited Kettering General Hospital’s Skylark Ward on Christmas Eve to give the children presents.
The presents were donated by visitors to Glenvale Park care home, as well as children, parents, and staff at Glenvale Church of England Primary School.
At The Manor House Roundhay care home in Leeds, residents got involved by wrapping up presents ahead of Christmas.
These were then delivered by care colleagues at the home to Leeds Children’s Hospital.
Carley Calder, Home Manager at Glenvale Park care home, said:
We were delighted to be able to drop off presents to the children spending Christmas in hospital.
A thank you must go to all our visitors who kindly donated presents, including
the wonderful children, parents, and staff of Glenvale School who raised funds to buy toys.
Sharna Neal, Deputy Manager at The Manor House Roundhay, added:
Our residents loved being able to support the local community and make a difference to people’s lives during the festive period.
