Shrove Tuesday celebrations on the right track
The team and residents at Bilton Court care home took part in several pancake-based activities and tucked into some delicious pancakes afterwards to celebrate Shrove Tuesday.
Residents enjoyed a day of pancake races, with miniature pancakes attached to a Scalextric race cars and raced around a track. Other activities included a flipping competition and pancake decorating. Everyone had a lot of fun taking part!
Of course, residents and the team celebrated Shrove Tuesday in style with a delicious pancake lunch! The team put on a delicious feast of sweet pancakes with classic toppings such as maple syrup, chocolate spread, fresh fruit and lemon and sugar.
Resident Beatrice Mann said:
It was such fun celebrating Shrove Tuesday. I really enjoyed taking part in the pancake race and it was nice to show off my pancake decorating.
I have to say though, my favourite part about the whole thing was getting to eat all the pancakes afterwards! This type of fun is typical of life here. We’re always doing fun things here and the team always makes sure we’re enjoying ourselves and are well looked after.
Manager Carley Young said:
We had a lot of fun celebrating Shrove Tuesday. It was lovely organising the activities for the residents and then, of course, eating some lovely pancakes!
“These Shrove Tuesday events are part of our ongoing programme of exciting activities which aim to stimulate our residents physically and mentally. They’re also a lot of fun for us to organise and participate in!
