Augusta Court celebrates St Patrick’s Day
Colleagues at Augusta Court in Chichester wore green costumes to get into the spirit of the day. The care home was decked out in shamrocks and green decorations made by the residents during arts and crafts activities to mark the feast day of Ireland’s patron saint, St Patrick.
The residents also took part in several activities to celebrate the occasion such as live Irish music and dancing, whiskey and Guinness tasting.
Des Hodnett, who has lived at Augusta Court for nine years, stated that he never celebrated St. Patrick’s Day in any special way but since childhood he was aware of it especially during school years. He enjoyed celebrating it in the home with other residents.
There’s always lots of interesting and new activities to try here at Augusta Court. I’ve always had a soft spot for St Patrick’s Day, and I’m overjoyed we celebrate it here!
Magdalena Zajac, Manager of Augusta Court care home, said:
