Mr Snipes wins Anchor’s Pet of the Month for May

Mr Snipes, an eight-year-old Greyhound, is a beloved resident of Mais Court in Ipswich and has been named Anchor’s Pet of the Month for May after being regarded as the “perfect match” for his owner.

A former racing Greyhound, Mr Snipes has been living with his proud owner, Robbie Williams, at Anchor’s Mais Court for the past four years. 

Robbie worked as a train conductor until 2019 but left this career behind due to the trauma he suffered. He was among those injured in the Blaxhall level crossing crash in April 2002, following which he received a National Safety Award.

He has struggled at times since leaving the role, but Mr Snipes has been there to support him. Robbie, who has lived at Mais Court for four years, said:

I’d never considered getting a Greyhound before I met him, but it was love at first sight. We’re the perfect match in so many ways.

It might sound strange, but he seems to know when I’m feeling down. He’ll come over and put his head on my lap, and everything gets better.

Julie Le Marrec, Manager of Anchor’s Mais Court, said:

Mr Snipes is an absolute star. He’s a lovely dog and really makes everyone’s day. He is a wonderful companion for Robbie and a firm favourite for all our residents!

We love animals like Mr Snipes at Anchor’s Mais Court. Studies have shown that the health of our residents improves when they interact with animals.

Mais Court, like all Anchor properties, has a pet-friendly policy in place. Recently, Anchor was awarded the Platinum standard from the RSPCA at their annual PawPrints Award for continuing to support pet-owning residents at their properties.
