The Manor House Knaresborough's Polar Express video gets more than 8,000 views

The Manor House Knaresborough care home’s Polar Express-themed video to celebrate Christmas has received more than 8,000 views on social media. 

Residents at The Manor House Knaresborough have certainly had a busy start to Christmas with their Santa’s Grotto greeting local children for more than three hours last weekend.

Home manager Klara Spatenkova said:

We want to say a huge thank you to all of those who braved the weather on Saturday to come and see us at our Santa’s Grotto.

It is the busiest grotto we have ever had, with Santa and his elf greeting children for over three hours straight. Santa has definitely earned his mince pies this Christmas Eve!

At one point there was quite a wait to see Santa, with the queue going out of the door. We really appreciate everyone’s patience. The children were all so well behaved and our conductor said he had so much fun meeting everyone.

Our grotto is our way of giving back to the Knaresborough community for all your involvement and support over the years, and our residents remember visits to Santa being all about the excitement of meeting him and telling him what they wanted for Christmas. 

It’s one of the reasons you might wait that little bit longer, because Santa and his elf want to hear all about what you’ve been doing through the festive period and what gifts you hope to get. 

We saw over 70 children last Saturday, our most to date! We hope all who joined us had a lovely magical experience.

The Polar Express and Santa’s Grotto was part of Anchor’s nationwide Creative Christmas campaign with care homes celebrating the festive season in the build up to the big day itself, through lights switch on events and Christmas cake competitions. 

Anchor’s The Manor House Knaresborough care home has 75 beds and enjoys an ideal location close to Knaresborough town centre with all its shops, restaurants and bars. 

In addition to being close to the River Nidd and Knaresborough Castle, it benefits from excellent transport links to Harrogate, York and Leeds.
