How we welcomed in the new year across our locations

Seeing in the new year can be a significant time for many. It’s a time to reflect on the previous year and look forward to the year ahead. 

Across our locations it’s no different, and special activities are planned to make the celebration as special as possible. From parties to scrapbooking, there is something for everyone to mark the occasion and reminisce. 

Beech Hall held a new year’s party where residents and colleagues dressed up and danced with each other to some favourite tunes. Elderwood hosted a singalong party with refreshments and Beechfield Lodge made scrapbooks to add to a bigger display. 

All the singing and dancing from the previous night meant that refreshments were in order on New Year’s Day. Both Silk Court and Dawson Lodge prepared special menus for residents to choose from, and meals were enjoyed together in specially decorated rooms. There were even a few crackers and party hats for residents to enjoy, to really get them into the celebratory spirit. 

At Anchor, we host year-round events to keep residents engaged and active. The celebrations surrounding New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are just some of the ways we help people enjoy living in later life.
