Elsie’s secret to her long life is that she has never married or had children. She has also never smoked or drank any alcohol – she has pretty much lived a stress-free life! It is a pleasure to have her with us at Beechfield Lodge as she is loved by everyone.
Elsie was born in Salford in 1917 and grew up with her two younger brothers and parents in a grocery shop on Broad Street, which the family managed.
After attending St John Primary School, she worked for Radox and then Co-op Tea Warehouse before settling at Salford Royal Hospital where she stayed until she retired.
