Elderwood resident Molly marks her 104th birthday with family and friends
Molly Ingham lives at Elderwood care home in Darlington and has recently celebrated her 104th birthday.
She marked the landmark occasion with a party attended by her friends and family.
Molly was born in Drinkfield, and worked as a seamstress many years ago. She married her husband Ralph in 1942 and together they had three daughters. Molly also has six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, with another on the way.
People may well recognise Molly as the ‘poster girl’ of an NHS flu jab campaign in 2022.
Ann Dale, Home Manager at Elderwood care home, said:
Molly loves telling us about all the activities she’s been involved with over the years. Throughout her life, she’s loved baking, attending Darlington football matches, and enjoying jazz music.
It is a pleasure to have her with us at Elderwood as she is loved by everyone.
When asked about the secret to reaching 104 years of age, Molly revealed that “country living, fresh air and good food” were all important factors.
