Wetherby care home celebrates its tenth anniversary in style
Everyone at Wetherby Manor care home had a great time celebrating its 10 year anniversary with friends from the local community
David Bellamy OBE, Mr Alec Shelbrooke MP and Councillor John Procter opened the care home on 21 March 2013. To celebrate the 10-year anniversary, a party was thrown for residents and their loved ones. Members of the local community also came to the celebration, including The Deputy Lord Mayor of Wetherby, Dawn Payne.
Everyone enjoyed the glitz and glam of the day including the red carpet, prosecco wall and homemade buffet. Guests also enjoyed musical entertainment from one of Wetherby Manor’s own care team, Paul, who played the piano and had even written his own song about Wetherby Manor.
A ceremonial tree was planted to commemorate the occasion. Furthermore, a time capsule was buried at the home with memorabilia from the birthday celebrations, including cards and photographs! The time capsule is planned to be unearthed on the home’s 20th birthday.
Resident Thelma Clark, said:
I really enjoyed celebrating the 10th anniversary of Wetherby Manor care home. It was a lot of fun, especially putting all the things in the time capsule!
I remember when I first moved here in December 2021, it just seems like yesterday! I suppose time does go quickly when you’re having fun. Here’s to another 10 years!
Caroline Byron, Manager of Wetherby Manor, said:
We can’t believe it’s been 10 years since we opened! I’m really proud of the wonderful community we have here. We’ve all worked hard to create a fun, enabling environment for our residents and to give them top quality care!
This would not have been possible without everyone on my incredible team working together so well! It was lovely to see the residents and their loved ones enjoying the afternoon. We look forward to having many more in the years to come.
