Resident Ruby celebrates her 105th Birthday at Nelson Lodge
Ruby Litchfield, who has lived at Nelson Lodge care home for two years, will be blowing out her candles at a party at the home with friends and relatives. To help Ruby celebrate this momentous occasion, the care team are also asking the local community to send her birthday cards where for anyone who would like to, details can be found at the bottom of this page.
The centenarian was born in Flitwick and grew up with five brothers where Ruby went on to work at the butchers run by her family. Her favourite memory is of her wedding day and marriage to her husband.
Sean Mccloskey, Manager of Anchor’s Nelson Lodge care home, said: “Ruby is a lovely person. She always likes to take part in activities at the home and especially loves playing the piano.”
When asked her secret to a long life, Ruth said she doesn’t have one but advised to “just enjoy it.”
Cards can be sent to Ruby at Nelson Lodge, Whinfell Close, St Neots, PE19 8AB.
