Helping everyone get confident online
We’re committed to making sure all residents feel confident and included in the digital world. Whether it’s staying in touch with loved ones, accessing services online or simply learning something new, being digitally connected can make everyday life easier and more enjoyable.
With a range of support and resources available, we want to support you with your digital journey.
Tea & Tech – learn at your own pace
Our virtual Tea & Tech sessions (via Microsoft Teams) are a relaxed and friendly way to build confidence with technology. These sessions give you the chance to ask questions, tackle digital challenges, and learn new skills, all while enjoying a cuppa from the comfort of home. No question is too small, and everyone is welcome, whatever your starting point.
Free online learning and support
We can also point you towards some excellent free learning platforms, including:
- Learn My Way – a beginner-friendly website offering free courses to help you learn essential digital skills, from using email to staying safe online.
- Be Skilled – our own online learning platform, packed with free resources, advice, and information to help you get connected and make the most of digital tools.
In addition, we work closely with AbilityNet, who have trained volunteers available to offer practical, one-to-one support with technology where needed.
Could you be a Digital Neighbour?
We know many residents already have strong computer and digital skills, and we’d love your help. We’re inviting residents to become Digital Neighbours, volunteers who can offer friendly support to others in their community, helping them get online and learn basic digital skills.
You don’t need to be an expert - just patient, approachable, and willing to share what you know.
