Park Hall care home launches new convenience store and coffee shop
Park Hall care home has launched a new convenience store and coffee shop, with a party that hosted the Deputy Lord Mayor of Stoke on Trent and her Deputy Consort.
The event happened at the care home in Stoke on Trent with a delighted audience of residents, their relatives, and the care team. The idea of a coffee shop was first suggested at a relatives’ and residents’ meetings.
It was felt it would be lovely to be able to take loved ones for coffee and cake during their visits to Park Hall, but sometimes transport was difficult. The home wanted to be able to facilitate these outings closer to home and the on-site function room proved the perfect place to create a coffee shop for everyone to enjoy.
The Deputy Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, Councillor Lyn Sharpe and Deputy Consort Mr Kevin Sharpe attended the event earlier this month.
Councillor Sharpe cut the ribbon and officially opened the new Park Hall Pantry.
Light refreshments and homemade cakes were served during the event, with entertainment provided by regular favourite, Glyn Davies.
The Deputy Lord Mayor Councillor Lyn Sharpe said,
I was delighted to be invited by Park Hall to open their new convenient store and coffee shop and was made to feel very welcome.
I hope all the residents had a fabulous day and I look forward to attending more events at the home in future months.
Park Hall Home Manager Rachael Smith said,
Following the success of the launch party, we look forward to working with Approach Dementia Support. They support local communities in Staffordshire and those living with dementia, to live their life the way they choose by offering help and advice. We plan to hold regular coffee mornings, in conjunction with Approach and support the community together.
Councillor Sharpe will soon become Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent and Park Hall hopes to welcome her to other events planned during the next year. Several relatives told us,
It’s better than we imagined. Mum especially likes the china crockery; it brought back lovely memories of having high teas at home.
