Every time I visited my brother-in-law, we entered a friendly environment. The staff were very friendly. I had lunch with him a few times, and the food was delicious. His room was light and comfortable, and his daughter had hung pictures on the walls and placed photographs of his family around the room. He is comfortable there and likes the staff. … It is a lovely home, and when leaving, I am assured he is happy and well looked after.

The reason my husband is in Harden Hall is due to me having a seizure and being unable to look after him. He is settled and happy there. The home is homely. The staff are friendly and caring. The food is delicious. I have spent numerous lunch times with him. Any concerns, I have the staff deal with it straight away. My mind is at rest knowing he is… happy there.

My mom moved into Harden at the of February. This has been a challenging time for the family, and the staff at Harden have been excellent especially the Team Leaders who have helped us navigate what care Mom needs. We have asked a lot of questions and they have always been available to support us and help us understand how Mom will be cared for. Th… is has put our minds at rest and has been such a relief to know that they keep us informed , is well looked after and that they understand dementia, something which is new to us. The food is excellent, everyone knows Mom's name, she loves the Hairdressers and its invaluable as a family that we can join mom for lunch and in the coffee shop. I would highly recommend Harden Hall and I cannot thank the staff enough for everything they have done and continue to do.

In the absence of free provision by the NHS, we can also arrange for the following healthcare services to be provided, these will be charged in addition to the weekly fees:
- chiropody
- optometry
- dentistry
- physiotherapy
- other privately arranged healthcare
- care staff accompaniment to regular medical appointments.

No upfront deposit is required at any of Anchor’s care homes to secure a room.

At Anchor we pride ourselves on offering a truly tailored approach to care and therefore need to fully understand your needs to provide you with an accurate fee estimate. Please call us to discuss your specific care needs today. Alternatively we welcome you to visit us to discuss your situation face-to-face.

Welcoming you

To start your enquiry simply click 'Enquire now' at the top of the page and either call us or complete an online enquiry form.

We know only too well how daunting and emotional the decisions are for everyone when considering care, which is why our team are here to help every step of the way.

We’ll provide you with full details of the home, along with any other information you’d like, such as sample menus and activity schedules, as well as explain how you can arrange a viewing.

Whether you’re looking to stay with us permanently, or for a short break, we’d be delighted to take you on a show round of the home in person. Simply book a visit with the home manager once you’ve made your enquiry.

If you or your loved one doesn’t live nearby or are unable to visit in person we can provide a virtual show round. Either way, we’re keen to show you what daily life is like here and for you to meet our friendly team.

We hope you decide, following your visit, that you or your loved one would like to move into the home, in which case we’ll organise a pre-assessment to make sure we can meet all your care needs.

Guide to visiting a care home for the first time

Visiting a care home is one of the most important steps in deciding whether it’s the right place for you or your loved one. In our homes we will ensure your visit will be welcoming, informative and reassuring, so you can feel confident about your choice. To help you get the most from your time visiting our homes, we've written an easy to follow online guide to visiting a care home.

We hope you decide, following your visit, that you or your loved one would like to move into the home, in which case we’ll organise a pre-assessment to make sure we can meet all your care needs.

You may already have had a care needs assessment from the local authority and have a care plan in place which can be a useful starting point for our conversations, so we will ask about these. Our pre-assessment is a chance for us to find out more about you, the challenges you face and the way you like to live your life. It's a conversation about how our team could work with you to support your needs, independence, and wellbeing.

Once you are confident in your choice of new home, our friendly onsite teams will discuss every aspect of moving-in with you in detail to make sure you know exactly what to expect.

This way you can feel confident, safe and welcomed in the knowledge that you or your loved one will be happy and supported in your new home.

Before you move in, we will find out if there are any of your possessions that you wish us to place in your room before you arrive. Please bring your family photographs and most treasured possessions to help make your room your home.

Our care homes are dedicated to helping our residents maintain links in the local area and with their loved ones. We understand how important visits are to help your loved one settle in and we welcome regular visits from family and friends.

We also actively support residents living with us to enjoy visits away from their new home into the local area and to nearby places of interest.

Each of our homes is different and the manager of the care home you’re interested in will provide all the information you need around visiting.
