Anchor residents set to celebrate 76th wedding anniversary
A couple who live together at Wetherby Manor care home in Wetherby are set to celebrate their 76th wedding anniversary next month.
Arnold and Rita Bradbury were married on 31st March 1948 at St John’s Church in Moortown. They have been residents at Wetherby Manor for eight years.
Both were in the Navy during the war. Arnold served in India and Rita was stationed in the UK. Arnold, now 100, went on to work at the family butchers and Rita, now 99, worked in an office.
The couple have spent enjoying holidays together especially cruises and they also share a love of golf.
Home manager Caroline Byron said:
We love having Arnold and Rita living with us and after so long together they certainly have some stories to tell. We enjoyed helping them celebrate Valentine’s Day and we are looking forward to helping them celebrate their 76th wedding anniversary together next month.
