Dawson Lodge hosts special celebration for resident

Peter Kolinichenko, who has lived at Dawson Lodge care home since March 2022, celebrated turning 100 on Wednesday 18 January at a party with frends and relatives.

Grandfather of one Mr Kolinichenko was born in Ukraine and moved to Southampton in 1947. Before he retired Mr Kolinichenko worked at Warner Lambert, as a Machine Operator.

Along with the traditional 100th birthday telegram from the King, Mr Kolinichenko enjoyed some cake, champagne and other treats as he celebrated with his family and the care home team.

Mr Kolinichenko said:

I feel so happy, and I didn’t think I would make it to this day! My secret to a long life is to eat lots of mashed potatoes, vegetables, and tomatoes. And also drink lots of good red wine!

Mr Kolinichenko is a lovely person. He’s a much-loved figure at Dawson Lodge and always likes to take part in the things going on here. His favourite activities are joining the zest session organised by colleagues.
