Colleagues celebrate remarkable 120-year combined work anniversary

Pearl Millin, Manager, Trudy Hardy, Deputy Manager, Linda Keeble, Care Assistant and Heidi Fidler, Chef at Firth House celebrated their incredible milestone with colleagues and residents. 

Pearl started her career with us as a Carer the day Firth House was opened on 3 June 1991. She was joined by the others soon after and they have been a dream team ever since! All four work harmoniously with other colleagues and are adored by residents.

In honour of their remarkable milestone, the fantastic four received certificates and threw a work party with colleagues and residents.

Pearl said:

I can’t believe we’ve all been here for a total of 120 years! It feels like it was just yesterday I started, I guess time really does fly when you’re having fun.

I’m proud to have worked my way up the care team to Manager in 2000. Not long after that I got to recruit a new Deputy and Trudy was the best candidate for the job. Safe to say 22 years later, she was!

Linda and Heidi are both absolute stars as well. Linda was one of my top Team Leaders before deciding to go back to being an Assistant but she’s still a great sounding board for our colleagues looking for advice because of all her experience! Heidi originally worked for another company when we outsourced our catering but decided to continue working for Anchor when we brought all catering in-house. We’re all glad she did because she’s a delight to work with and the residents love her food!

As a former care home manager. I know how hard this job is, the care the staff deliver at Firth House is exceptional and that is cascaded down from a great team, who have so much experience and knowledge to pass too our younger generation starting in care, they are all amazing and congratulations from us all!

Like all of our care homes, Firth House has a team who are passionate about providing the best possible care for our residents. It goes without saying that 120 years of combined service is a fantastic achievement and wouldn't have been possible without having the utmost dedication to residents and other colleagues.
