Colleague wins award for incredible professionalism

Simone Clover, Manager of Prior Bank care home, won an Anchor Colleague Award for her incredible professionalism in her duties and empathy for those in her care. 

Residents and their relatives have been astonished by Simone’s hard work and kindness. Simone has become widely known for going the extra mile for those in her care and supporting her colleagues as well.   

Simone has a motto when it comes to looking after residents: 

This is the resident’s home, and we work in their home.

For Simone, the residents always come first, and she makes sure they are always included in decisions and aware of all the choices and options they have. This includes both choices about their own lives and choices about Prior Bank as a whole, such as the décor in the home, menus, and timetables for activities. 

In addition to her support of the residents in her care, Simone has a great relationship with her colleagues. The team at Prior Bank care home all said that Simone goes the extra mile in supporting them. For example, Simone is always there to offer the staff support and always encourages people to progress within their role or climb the ladder within Anchor if that’s what they choose to do.  

Liz Marriott, a Home Administrator at Prior Bank care home, was full of praise for Simone, saying:

I’m extremely happy that Simone has won an Anchor Colleague Award! I nominated her because she is just so committed to her work. It’s clear she loves everyone she works with, and they love her. 

Simone’s done amazing things to improve the lives of everyone at the care home. Every time I chat to residents, relatives and colleagues they spend half their time telling me how brilliant she is and how much they appreciate what she does.

Simone was very touched to win the award saying:

I’m deeply honoured to have won a Colleague Award and really touched with all the lovely things people have said. I really love working at Prior Bank care home. I guess that’s the secret, if you love where you work and what you do, it makes everything that much easier! 

I’d like to thank my team too, they’re the best team I could ask for and make my job a breeze. Honestly, I think they deserve some of the credit for the award, I don’t know if I’d have gotten anywhere without them.
