Always very welcoming and the carers work really hard, looking after a lot of residents. Any queries are dealt with and I am phoned immediately if any problems. My mum had a fall about six weeks ago, they phoned for an ambulance and by the time I arrived the paramedics were there and dealing with her. Fortunately, it wasn’t a serious fall but it … made me feel confident in the people there. I have given four for food as I am never there at mealtimes when they are busy. Mum seems happy with the food.

The most excellent care is given by all of the staff to my grandad. Everyone is welcoming and very polite. Food is great. Excellent accommodation to stay at. All around excellent service. My grandad always looks very happy and enjoys his stay here. The staff at Brackenfield Hall Care Home are very helpful and supportive when it comes to seeing to b… oth care home residents and their family members that visit. During my grandad's stay, there has been a big improvement in his physical and emotional well-being.

Mum has only been at Brackenfield a short time but I know it's been the best move, as her emotional health and mobility has improved already. Brackenfield has a lovely family feel and there's always a smile, friendly face and a chat. Every member of staff and management are fantastic, they have been so supportive and you can tell they genuinely car… e about the residents and families. Mum is encouraged every day to participate in everything that's happening. I can rest assured knowing, Mum is happy, safe and well cared for in a warm and happy home.

My dad has been a resident since March 2023. This was a very difficult decision to make, but the staff here have been very helpful and supportive in this move. We have had Dad's room decorated with the help of a staff member - doing a fantastic job of decorating and putting some shelves up for us. The staff are very helpful with everyday concerns … and tracking missing items. Dad seems to have settled well, which gives me peace of mind to know he is safe.

My mother has happily lived at Brackenfield Hall for nearly two years. The carers became her second family, and she was very happy and well cared for. Sadly, she has just passed away, but the care and support that was given to both her and her immediate family was fantastic. All went the extra mile, and the painful journey we were taking at the… end was a lot less scary knowing they were there and listening. We are forever grateful to them for allowing my Mum to end her living journey in her home with her familiar surroundings and her family around her.

My wife lives here. The care staff are all lovely. The management team are always helpful. My wife enjoys the food and it always smells appetising. My wife is settled here and is always clean and well-dressed. Staff make me feel part of the family and make me feel welcome. Nothing is too much for them.

What is included in care home fees?

For many people, moving to a care home is a big decision and it can be difficult to know where to start. Care home fees are based on a range of factors, including specific care needs, which can change over time.

Living in an Anchor care home you can be confident that a single fee covers the cost of your personally tailored 24 hour care and support, utility bills and meals, as well as a fantastic range of daily activities. In an Anchor care home our weekly charge includes:
- cost of personal care
- accommodation
- utilities e.g. heating and light
- all resident catering, meals, snacks and drinks
- laundry undertaken on the premises
- television licence, including for person use
- housekeeping services.

The following extra items and services are not covered by the weekly fees, however we can arrange for them to be provided (at an additional cost):
- professional hairdressing
- personal copies of newspapers or magazines
- personal purchases such as stationery, confectionery, toiletries etc.
- clothing, shoes and slippers
- dry cleaning
- private telephone line rental and calls and cable connections.

In the absence of free provision by the NHS, we can also arrange for the following healthcare services to be provided, these will be charged in addition to the weekly fees:
- chiropody
- optometry
- dentistry
- physiotherapy
- other privately arranged healthcare
- care staff accompaniment to regular medical appointments.

No upfront deposit is required at any of Anchor’s care homes to secure a room.

At Anchor we pride ourselves on offering a truly tailored approach to care and therefore need to fully understand your needs to provide you with an accurate fee estimate. Please call us to discuss your specific care needs today. Alternatively we welcome you to visit us to discuss your situation face-to-face.
