The manager and her staff have been absolutely lovely from the moment I went to visit Oakwood Grange with a view to my dad needing a place in a care home urgently. In the 8 weeks that he has been there they have done an initial detailed care plan, adapting it to fit dad's needs as they got to know him more. Every time we visit there is a member of … staff that is keen to let us know how he is doing, and they have contacted us promptly over a couple of issues as dad settled in. The staff have also been kind and caring towards me and my husband, recognising that it is also a difficult time for us. Dad is now settling and less anxious, and we know he is safe and well cared for by the staff.

I cannot speak too highly of the care I have received. I have only been in residence for a matter of weeks but during that time my husband died and the care and consideration I have received has been without parallel. Both staff and management have made it the best place to be at this time.

Have been quite impressed by my time at Oakwood Grange. I did not know what to expect as many bad reviews are published about various care homes. I have settled here well. Everyone is so friendly. Managment, staff, carers and other residents food is varied and good, room is clean and common areas attractive and welcoming. Can eat in the dining room… or my own room - it is good to have a choice. There are lots of smiley faces about which is good too.

Mum has been living at Oakwood for over six months. Mum experienced appalling care at her two previous care homes, and so, understandably, I was initially apprehensive. This was soon replaced with joy and relief. Mum's bed is always clean, her clothes are clean and respectfully put neatly back into her wardrobe, and nothing has gone missing. Mum … is so much more settled and always clean. She is kept safe within the home as the carers understand Mum's dementia and her particular behaviours and the risks around that. Mum's care plan shows that it has been written with knowledge, understanding and professionalism that I haven't seen in her previous two care homes, all of this gives me confidence and happiness and I am so grateful to everyone, the owners, management, carers and everyone who works at Oakwood for giving such a high and professional standard of care, it means more than I can really put into words.

We had visited several care homes in the area for my aunt and uncle. As soon as we entered Oakwood Grange, we felt at home. The atmosphere is calm, warm and bright but the care and carers are exceptional. They have so much time for both the residents and their families and friends. Nothing is too much trouble. It has been a very upsetting and stre… ssful time as my uncle was taken into hospital days before he was supposed to live at Oakwood, so my aunt moved in by herself. She has been so well cared for by everyone and when my uncle came out of hospital just after New Year, they cared so well for him despite his failing health. He died 10 days after he had moved in and I'm so relieved that they were both together at such a critical time. Thank you to everyone. As a family we know that my aunt is so well-cared for and has social interaction when she most needs it.

We took the difficult decision to move my mother into a care home in June 2024. From the moment we visited the care home, we knew we had made the right decision. The staff at Oakwood Grange could not be more caring. My mother loved her time there. Sadly, she has now passed but I know that in the relatively short time she was there, she felt safe an… d well looked after by the excellent staff. Thank you to all at Oakwood Grange for the love and care you showed to my mother.

My husband has been a resident for around 8 months. Staff are really friendly and communicate fairly well. I find sometimes he isn't washed and dressed to the usual standards but on a whole the care is satisfactory. The only thing I disagree with, is on the odd occasion he has had a fall, is the staff sent him to hospital alone instead of with a me… mber of staff.
