West Hall care home show off new two person bike

The staff at West Hall care home in West Byfleet are very proud to show off their newest piece of kit – a two seater bike.

This specially made two person bike – where two people can sit side by side, is enabling staff to give residents a new type of journey around the landscaped grounds at the home. 

As the summer approaches and the weather improves, staff are certain residents will be keen to take up this new opportunity to “cycle” around West Hall with them.

Andy Jarman, West Hall Customer Relations Manager said: “The new bike means we can take residents out for a totally new type of spin around the grounds. With over five acres of gardens to look around, there is always somewhere new to go.

“The two sets of pedals also mean that, if they wish, they can help pedal and get fit while travelling with us. Exercise is a key part of residents’ wellbeing and the social interaction between resident and carer when out for a ride is brilliant – we are having a lot of laughs so far!

“The new piece of kit is also a great way for family and friends to have some fun when visiting their loved ones at West Hall. It’s win-win really!”
