Celebrating a year of Be Well success
Over the past year, our Be Well programme has made a lasting impact by championing the wellbeing of our residents and building healthier, more connected communities.
As we reflect on this journey, we’re incredibly proud of the strides we’ve made together, supporting physical, mental, and digital wellbeing across the board.
Highlights from the year
Here are just a few achievements we’re especially proud of:
- Launched our Wellbeing Ambassador programme, empowering colleagues to take an active role in supporting resident wellbeing
- Collaborated with our Be Wise team and residents through a listening and acting exercise to create a residents’ discount page, offering reputable savings for over-60s
- Shortlisted for the Housing Heroes Award for our Chatty Bench initiative
- Retained our RSPCA Pawprints Platinum Award, recognising our ongoing support for residents with pet companions
- Secured external funding and formed strategic partnerships to enhance digital inclusion and expand our Be Active offer.
Engagement and satisfaction
With over 9,700 interactions across our Be Well services (excluding Be Wise), engagement has been phenomenal. We’re proud to report an average 97% satisfaction rate for 2024/25, reflecting the positive impact we’re making.
Be Active: Encouraging healthier lifestyles
Thanks to £8,500 in funding from Sport England, we’ve expanded our Be Active programme, leading to a 47% increase in exercise session participation. More residents are embracing an active lifestyle and feeling the benefits.
Be Digital: Bridging the divide
Our Digital Inclusion Officer, Rachael Timms, has played a key role in helping 475 residents get online, a 140% increase from the previous year! We’re proud to support digital confidence and access in meaningful ways:
- Free data SIM cards (via The Good Things Foundation)
- Internet safety and scam awareness workshops
- Support with Wi-Fi setup, accessibility settings, and app downloads
- Training on Zoom-to-Teams transition
- Workshops on social media, WhatsApp, Messenger
- Access to online health, shopping, and learning tools
- Digital storytelling, signposting, and more!
Be Connected: Combating loneliness
Our Be Connected initiative continues to tackle loneliness and social isolation creating spaces for social engagement and interaction: 299 virtual coffee morning interactions, up 7% from last year 296 new Chatty Bench plaques installed, bringing the national total to 860
Be Skilled: Supporting lifelong learning
Through our Be Skilled platform, we’ve seen a 48% increase in course sign-ups, with residents completing learning in areas like Diversity & Inclusion and Food Safety Fundamentals. It’s all part of our mission to empower through knowledge.
