A message from Anchor’s Chief Executive – Sarah Jones
“I am reaching out today with a heavy heart. The events of the past few days with riots and violence in our streets have been profoundly shocking and unsettling, leaving many of us feeling deeply troubled and seeking the right words to express our emotions.
In moments like these, I find strength in the words of a valued colleague who recently shared their thoughts with me: "I am proud to work for an organisation that promotes diversity, tolerance, and equality and does not tolerate racism or discrimination of any kind."
These words resonate deeply with our core values of accountability, respect, courageousness and honesty, and they remind me of the responsibility we all share to uphold these principles.
Anchor has always stood firm in its commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. Racism, discrimination, and bigotry have no place in our workplace or in society, and we must actively work together to combat these injustices.
It is imperative that we support our colleagues, residents, families, and friends who may be feeling unsafe and marginalised by recent acts of violence and hatred. Strength lies in unity, and we must come together to stand against intolerance and division.
To that end, I urge everyone to engage in open dialogues, listen with empathy, and offer support to those who need it most.
Let us reaffirm our commitment to fostering an environment where every individual feels respected, valued, and safe.”
