Mayflower Court care home enjoys last days of summer with party
Anchor’s Mayflower Court care home in Southampton have made the most of the warm summer days with a special party.
Residents and staff celebrated with a seasonal barbeque and live entertainment from Chloe Dixon, a singer from Portsmouth’s own vintage girl band Timeless.
Resident Eva Green, 90, said: “The barbeque was absolutely lovely, really wonderful. The singer was marvellous.”
Many residents, including John Linfield, 93, enjoyed a dance as they were serenaded.
John added: “The barbeque was great and the singer was fantastic. I had a dance!”
The summer party was part of the calendar of activities organised by the care team at the home to encourage wellbeing and keep residents engaged.
Sam Henderson, Mayflower Court Manager, said: “The care team has worked together to come up with fantastic events for summer. As well as continuing residents’ favourite activities, such as arts and crafts and gardening, we have held several themed celebrations.
“These events are great for our residents’ physical and mental wellbeing while being a lot of fun.”
