Helping to make the digital world accessible to all
Anchor has signed Digital Poverty Alliance’s Charter for Digital Inclusion to show our commitment to addressing the digital divide.
The Charter for Digital Inclusion is a call to action for all organisations to be digitally inclusive, and those who sign it must commit to three of the below actions:
- Raise awareness of digital poverty
- Ensure digital services are accessible for all
- Encourage the donation of digital devices
- Provide resources to enhance digital literacy
- Collaborate with other organisations to maximise impact
We want to make sure that our residents benefit from everything the internet has to offer them. Our Be Digital programme provides guidance for residents on all things digital, giving them the skills to confidently navigate the world wide web through online resources, a bank of Digital Volunteers and tablet loan schemes.
On signing the Charter for Digital Inclusion, our Resident Wellbeing Lead Lauren Smith said:
We are proud to have signed the Charter for Digital Inclusion. We are committed to making the online world accessible. Our Be Digital programme has lots of initiatives in place to help Anchor residents feel confident when using a device and surfing the internet.
