Getting ready to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day at Anchor
Across our locations, residents and colleagues are getting ready to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
Observing D-Day is important for many of our residents and so care teams make special plans for the day. From themed crafting and reminiscence sessions to decorating communal spaces, there is something for everyone to get involved with. In our housing locations, residents are encouraged to get together and organise their own activities.
Residents at The Ridings care home in Banbury recently attended an arts and crafts session where they made themed decorations for D-Day.
The communal areas in Swallow Walk, Eagle Close and Heron Flight Avenue in Hornchurch have also been suitably decorated and residents at the locations will come together on 6 June to pay their respects.
Over the year we plan for many national days and other events that are important to our residents. Our care teams and location managers work hard to help residents mark it in a way which is meaningful to them, and share photos and videos across our social media channels to keep loved ones updated.
