Beech Hall care home wants old laptops for Nigerian educational project

A Yorkshire care home is appealing for donations of old laptops to help get a new ICT room at a school in Nigeria up and running.

Beech Hall in Armley, Leeds, has forged a link with Gemcare Schools in Lagos State through two of its employees Adi and Seyi Solesi, who are founders of the educational institution.

Gemcare Schools provide education for children aged three months to the age of 11 and embrace inclusivity, welcoming both neurotypical and neurodivergent learners.

They believe that every child deserves access to quality education regardless of their background and aim to build an educational institution of global relevance.

As part of this, they are currently setting up an ICT room where all of its 87 pupils can connect to global educational resources.

Home manager Lucie Cerna said:

We pride ourselves on the links Beech Hall has with the local community and we would like to extend that to children around the world who do not have the same advantages as we do. I have already got two laptops which will be a great help but we would like more.

Lucie is asking for donations of old laptops to help the children who are pupils at Gemcare Schools.

I do believe what Adi and Seyi are doing is incredible and we are delighted to be part of this wonderful project. People can donate laptops by dropping them off here at Beech Hall.
